Thank God for his wonderful grace and mercy! I heard a powerful statement this past week that I want to share with everyone: I heard it said that God will allow storms in your life not to pay you back but to bring you back! Jonah is a prime example. Always remember, no matter what you are facing in life, it should never drive us away from God but to God. When the storms of life come and begin to blow and beat against you in every way imaginable, be sure to position yourself in the wind of the Spirit and not with the wind of worry, doubt, fear or controversy, etc... Be encouraged and always remember who you are in Christ! Just like Jonah, when he responded in chapter 1 and verse 9: And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew, and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven , which hath made the sea and the dry land. In the middle of the storm he remembered who he was. I am an Hebrew said Jonah! In the middle of your storm, in the face of the enemies wind, rise up and declare: I am a child of God. Hold on to Romans 8:35: Who shall separate (me) us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation?...... verse 38 goes on to say: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. He concludes in verse 39 with: nothing shall be able to separate us!
Until next time,
Pastor Shawn Baker
